Membership

Welcome, and thank you for considering membership in our group!

Our membership consists of doulas with a wide range of experience. Our founders began working as doulas in the 1970s. Some of our newest members recently finished doula training. Our group includes doulas who are certified or working toward certification, as well as uncertified doulas. We welcome doulas of all ages and experiences.

We meet monthly to share resources and information, plan events and discuss the needs of our individual clients. We also usually have a guest lecturer to address the wide range of topics that could be beneficial to us and our clients. You do not need to be a member to attend. Our meetings are held from 1 to 3 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month.

Basic membership dues are $25 per year. These dues support our programs, including a telephone referral service, this website, promotional efforts, annual training opportunities and conferences

Premier membership is $50 a year and includes participation in our referral services. Premier members are featured on the website and on our referral phone line.

Supporting membership is welcomed in any amount for those who would like to contribute to our community work without becoming an active member.

We also have an interactive email group where we share resources, information, have a calendar of events and address each other's questions and comments. The group is open to anyone - worldwide - who has an interest in healthy pregnancies and mother/baby-centered birth and postpartum practices. We operate a separate email group for our members which focuses on the financial operations of the group and more-sensitive information for members only.
